Tips for Creating an Online Store

My Post on Craigslist Keeps Getting Flagged!

I just got an email asking:

“Help! My product posts keep getting Flagged and Removed from Craigslist, even though they don’t violate any of the terms of use. I suspect bored teenagers or some other nefarious bandit is responsible for this. Do any Flying Cart owners know of ANYTHING I can do to keep this from happening? Thanks!”

The answer is yes!  There are a lot of things you can do to not get flagged.  Also its not bored teenagers the Craigslist community is pretty good about that kind of stuff.  Here are a few things to keep in mind if you are getting flagged:

1. Don’t over post.  Nobody likes a spammer.  So if you are posting more than 3 posts a week I think you are overdoing it.

2. Don’t over hyperlink. At most you should only include one hyperlink.

3. Include a price.

4. Sound like a real person.

5. No typos.  The more educated you sound the less likely you will get flagged.  Copy/paste the posting into a word document to check for spelling errors.

6. No naked pictures! haha – This might be an obvious one to some…. but you will be surprised at how many people get this wrong.

Let me know if you have any other tips or experiences in the comments.

I am glad to know that I am not the only one to have trouble on craigs list. I too have had the same problem. I posted only one item,my cedar heart shaped box. it was on only two days and they told me i had to many posts!!! but i only had one!!! they said i had a f-150 truck for sale in dallas, i don’t live in dallas. then they said i had an rv for sale. i don’t own an rv! so they removed my ad for the cedar box but not the f-150 or the rv! Then they told me some one in another country was trying to access my account!! I had to reapply!! Whats up with that??? Are they on drugs?? I just told them to cancel everything if this is the way they do business, i do not want any part of it.

I have been using Craigslist for 4 years for my Real Estate. Now Everything get flagged when I post it. There are many others posting 20 to 50 ads per week. Why is this happening to me. Help. How can I stop this and who is doing it.

    Hi Bob,

The guys that are posting 20-50 ads per week are probably also getting flagged constantly. They are probably just using some sort of automated tool. My suggestion would be to contact the real estate people and ask them how they do it.

I have had experiences with people on craigslist who are trying to sell the same thing as me flag my listing in order to remove any competition (my price was lower than his).
While i don’t doubt the existence of these “bored teenagers,” i have to agree that they are less likely suspects.
But seriously, flagging someone else’s listing in order to keep them from offering a better deal than yourself is a bit ridiculous.
    I am not a business.
    I post ONE time.
    I do not use hyperlinks.
    I’m obviously real.
Typos are extremely unlikely in my case.
And just so i have all the bases covered, i do not post pictures—much less naked ones— of myself on the internet…or anywhere else for that matter.

Hi Hugh – You need to stop posting 20 to 50 ads per week. Try 1 ad per week and you will probably stop getting flagged.

It’s because they are dumb cunts over at craigslist. They will flag anything and never bother to tell you why it got removed. If I ever meet a craigslist flagger I’ll be sure to ram my dick up his or her ass. No lube.

  8. I’m not sure where you are getting your information, but great topic. I needs to spend some time learning much more or understanding more. Thanks for wonderful info I was looking for this information for my mission.

rofl, its obvious that Rishi works for Craigs List as he failed completely and utterly at reading the post and thus expressing anything at all useful.

Well I have same problem. I repair laptops and desktops of viruses and stuff. It never was flagged. But it gets flagged everytime. It may last a day maybe two if I’m lucky. Then it gets flagged and removed. No misspelled words. I dont understand. I post it in computers by owner
