Tips for Creating an Online Store

Need Press? Get HARO

Help a Reporter Out LogoAll business pray for press, well stop praying and subscribe to Help a Reporter Out.  Peter Shankman sends out daily emails where reporters are looking for stories.  This is how we got Flying Cart into the New York Times and Gaebler.com.

Just the other day a reporter wanted to do a story about green laptop notebook cases, just imagine if you were a store selling these.  It does take time and little bit of effort but in the long run it is totally worth it.

    That’s a damn good tip Rishi :)

How much does it cost to get the press to do a story on your store? It is a great idea

Linda – It is a free solution. You subscribe to their mailing list and he emails you stories that reporters are looking for.

I’ve been subscribed to HARO for awhile now. I got one of my projects featured in a blog about writing and I made a contact that may result in some press around February. It is the real deal.

Oh I’ve also referred several reporters to friends of mine. So its good for karma too.

Rishi is right though, it takes time to go through all the queries each day. Several times I’ve pondered writing software to help “smartly” filter this (meager AI background on my part).
