No Ads on Basic (free) stores!

Good News! We got rid of all Google ads on basic stores because we want you to love your store, and we want to improve the buying experience of your customers.

Enjoy! :)

My 2cents: get rid of unqualified business. People like service, yes. But, people PAY for service they want and use.

Getting something for free – well, there should be a trade off. If they are a serious business person seeking to create a brand presence, they won’t want ads and will pay for that featured benefit.

No ads and ‘free’ = equals more free accounts. And more people staying on free accounts = less revenue. Sometime you want to pick your customers for the sake of quality, this is one way to clean out the half-invested stores that may not be ready for business anyhow. Or they may just need more help in marketing.

Also, there are ways to create ad serving to target site-specific content. FlyingCart and the ‘free’ clients may both benefit from this type of arrangement.

    Cheers!

Thanks for your comments. I completely agree with you that when people are getting something for free, there should be a tradeoff. We put a lot of thought into the features that we think people need to pay for.

Our team went back and forth a lot on deciding whether to have Google Ads on our free stores in the first place. We decided to give it a try and see how it went. In the end, the ads were really only an annoying eyesore on the free stores and they weren’t very profitable for us anyway.

Many of our customers first try out the free version and then upgrade to a paying plan. We want them to love their store from the beginning, and we want to make sure that no potential sales are diverted away by ad links to other sites. Ultimately we came to the conclusion that the ads really weren’t helping anyone.

    And poof! They’re gone.
