Expanded store category list
November 19, 2008 |
Several of you have emailed to tell us that there isn’t a category in our list that fits your store. Agreed! We definitely needed some finer categories, and now we have them. This new list should allow you to set a category that better describes your store. Here is the updated list:
- Arts and Crafts
- Automotive
- Baby
- Bags and Purses
- Bath and Beauty
- Books and Zines
- Business and Industrial
- Candles
- Clothing
- Collectibles
- Computer
- Electronics
- Fashion Accessories
- Fine Art
- Food and Drink
- Furniture
- Garden
- Holiday
- Housewares
- Jewelry
- Toys
- Knitting
- Media
- Miscellaneous
- Music
- Novelty Items
- Pets
- Scrapbook
- Sports and Fitness
- Vintage
- Wedding
You can assign a category to your store on the Network > My Store Profile tab in the Headquarters.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what else we could add?

Interesting Idea. For now try to pick the one that best suits your store. You can always switch it back and forth.

You should have a General Merchandise section, for web stores that have everything or more than 1 category.

I added "Hobbies", "A Little of Everything", and "Gifts". Thanks for the suggestions. In the future we will be expanding the network section so you can create your own categories and have as many as you want.
